For over 75 years, there's been a dealership at 30 Main Street taking care of Newport drivers. It just went by a different name. Hartley's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram opened here in 1947 as a small filling station with two service bays, and Steven Hartley spent 40 years building it into the trusted name Central Maine knew for sales and service.

In June 2023, Hartley's joined the Darling's Auto Group family. The name on the sign changed, but the people didn't. Steve Henigan, Shawn Richards, Kim Tarr, Mike Ponte, Paul Vieira, Hunter Fitts, and many of our service technicians were part of the Hartley's team long before the sale, and they're still here today. If you worked with any of them under the old name, you'll still see the same face across the counter.

A family business joining a family business

Darling's has been Maine owned for four generations. When Steven Hartley decided to retire, he made sure his dealership landed somewhere that would treat his team and his customers the way he had.
